Energy Zone

The Energy Zone hosts over 30 group exercise classes varying from water aerobics, cycling, Body Step™ and Body Pump™. Classes are held Monday through Saturday starting as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Energy Zone behind the Drill Hall (Bldg. 1586).

Directions to the Energy Zone: From Gate 2 make a right at the first traffic light on Buse Road. Make a left on Keane Road. The Energy Zone is across from the Mattapany Day Camp.

Specialty classes at the Energy Zone
Additional specialty classes such as pilates, yoga, ballroom dancing, and belly dancing are offered at the Energy Zone throughout the year.

Pilates
Instructor: Deanna DeVito
Mondays and Wednesdays 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
$64 for an 8 class Drop-In Pass.
Pilates is a unique method of body conditioning that involves a series of movements performed on the mat. The exercises target the deep postural muscles aimed at building muscle strength and rebalancing the body as well as improving posture, flexibility, coordination, concentration and control of the body. Register at the Fitness and Sports Office. First Class Free!

Zumba® Classes at the Energy Zone
Mondays 4:30 p.m., Wednesdays 5:30 p.m., Thursdays 11:30 a.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.
Party yourself into shape with this latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning dance fitness party. Feel the music and let loose. Register at the Fitness and Sports office. Group Exercise fees apply. Call 301-995-3869 to learn more!

Classes are held Monday through Saturday starting as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 5:30 p.m. Classes are held in the Energy Zone behind the Drill Hall (Bldg. 1586) and are free to active-duty, reservist and retired military personnel.

Drop-in Yoga Classes
$72 for an 8-class drop-in pass. First Class Free!

  • Yoga Stretch and Flex
    Mondays 5:45  - 6:45 p.m.
    A series of gentle yet active stretches, movements, and postures designed to calm the mind and body, increase flexibility, and build strength. Suitable for all levels.
  • Yoga Flow
    Every Tuesday from 11:45 a.m - 12:45 p.m.
    with Heather Hill (8-class passes can be purchased at the Fitness & Sports Office in the Drill Hall)
    A dynamic sequence of postures and breathing. This flow Yoga Class is suitable for ALL Levels!! Come take a break from your busy day to re-connect with yourself, focus on your breath and make time for yourself. REFRESH YOUR SELF!
  • Yoga Levels 1-2
    Thursdays 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
    A detail-oriented class focusing on alignment along with strength and flexibility. Suitable for all levels.
  • Early Morning Hatha Yoga Gentle Flow
    Wednesday 5:45 - 6:45 a.m.
    This morning flow will jump start your day and move you to better health and fitness by combining breath work, a dynamic Yoga flow, and a guided relaxation closing each session. A series of exercises and postures will increase flexibility, build strength, and join body & mind for improved overall health and wellness. Suitable for all levels.
