Join the Fleet & Family Support Center and MWR for a funny look at depression and suicide on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Center Stage Theater. Open to all with base access!
The 1 Degree of Separation Show Series is an entertainment program that blends humor with mental health awareness. The comedy show aims to raise awareness, spark open conversations and break the stigma surrounding depression by sharing the comedians' personal stories and experiences.
This free event, open to all active duty and reserve Sailors, family members, DoW civilians and government contractors, features comedians who use humor to address sensitive topics like depression and suicide. By laughing through dark topics, the comedians help release the pain often associated with these struggles, creating an opportunity for more open discussions about mental health. The ultimate goal is to foster an atmosphere of healing for those affected by depression.
As part of the Navy’s broader suicide prevention efforts, 1 Degree of Separation creates a safe space for healing, helping Sailors, DoW civilians, and families thrive by fostering mental health support in a lighthearted, approachable setting.
