The Outdoor Pool is an Olympic-size facility located next to the Rassieur Youth Center. During the summer months the pool is available for fitness and recreation swim. The pools impressive amount of deck space, including an upper deck, makes it an ideal rental facility for private parties and other functions.
Cedar Point Beach is located on the Patuxent River with great views of the Chesapeake Bay. There are small and large pavilions available with charcoal grills, beach volleyball court and playground. The beach is a swim at your own risk beach, there are no lifeguards on duty.
The Drill Hall is the center of indoor recreation at Patuxent River. The Drill Hall floor is dominated by three basketball courts and another full-sized, NCAA regulation basketball court, one full-sized regulation volleyball court, and two full-sized regulation racquetball courts.
The Energy Zone hosts over 30 group exercise classes varying from water aerobics, cycling, Body Step and Body Pump. Classes are held Monday through Saturday starting as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Energy Zone behind the Drill Hall (Bldg. 1586).
NAS Patuxent River offers a wide range of active sport opportunities. The following is a list of intramural sports and their respective seasons:

An organizational meeting will be held for coaches and managers prior to the start of a sport's season.
Active duty, retired military, reservists and their dependents over the age of 18 years of age are eligible to compete in the intramural sports program free of charge.
Current and retired DoD Patuxent River employees and their dependents over the age of 18 are eligible to compete and are required to pay a $35 monthly fee or $200 annually for the Civilian Fitness and Sports Program membership.
Contractors may purchase a Civilian Fitness and Sports Program membership in order to participate in intramural sports. Annual fees are $525 for the contractor employee, an additional $75 for the first family member, then $50 for each additional family member.
