The Unaccompanied Housing survey, which will be available through June 20, 2019, is an opportunity for Sailors to note their likes and dislikes and any health or safety concerns they may with their housing. Unaccompanied Housing at Naval Station Patuxent River provides support to, or directly manages unaccompanied personnel housing to include Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQs) that house Permanent Party Personnel for NAS and Tenant Commands.
There are 7 buildings with 323 rooms and 346 spaces for single enlisted personnel.
- 5 Buildings have modules in which 6 single rooms share a common lounge with TV and cable, common head including sinks, toilets and showers and one washer and dryer.
- 1 building contains single rooms with personal showers, common area washer and dryers on each floor and one lounge on the 1st floor with TV and cable.
- 1 building is designated for a specific squadron and only those squadron personnel will reside in that facility.
Each room is carpeted and consists of a full size bed with headboard, dresser, armchair and ottoman, nightstand, desk with desk chair, wardrobe, refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board. All rooms are equipped with cable, internet and phone outlets, but are the responsibility of the resident to attain these services within their room. Linen is provided by the staff, but must be maintained by the resident. The complex also has a community kitchen located in the Freedom Lounge in building 1455 and is accessible 24 hours a day.
All rooms are subject to weekly inspections and residents are required to maintain daily living standards and comply with Unaccompanied Housing rules and regulations.
