Pax River Nature Walk for Homeschoolers

The NAS Patuxent River School Liaison invites homeschool families with base access to a Pax River nature walk on Oct. 27 (rain date Oct. 28) from 10 a.m.-noon at the Kyle E. Rambo Nature Trail - Oriole Trail.

  • Meet Pax River Master Naturalist Bill Cheeseman and Natural Resources Specialist Rebecca Stump.
  • Take a leisurely 1+ mile walk on natural paths with minimal elevation change with frequent stops for free-form discussions about trees, shrubs, animals and other life forms.
  • Learn how and why leaves change color and what animals are doing to prepare for winter.

 

Meet at the Oriole (orange) trail at Gate 3 (ignore the orange cones & drive around - just before the closed gates on your right is a parking area and the trail head).
