BGCA National Arts Contest Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join the Rassieur Youth Center in kicking off the Boys & Girls Club of America's National Arts Contest exhibit and voting with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. at the Navy Exchange.

The National Arts Contest allows children ages 5-17 to display their artwork and recognizes club members (the Rassieur Youth Center is a Military Affiliated Club) for their accomplishments in visual, digital and performing arts through two legacy art programs:

  • National Fine Arts Exhibit - Featuring categories in watercolor, pastels, oil & acrylic paint, printmaking, collage, mixed media, colored pencil, monochromatic and group project
  • ImageMakers National Photography Program - Featuring categories in portrait, nature & surroundings, fashion & design, culture & tradition and editing & filters

Participants in the contest have created works of art based on this year's theme, "The Joy in our Stories" within four age groups and 18 categories. Submissions will be on display at the Navy Exchange beginning Jan. 12; voting ends Jan. 26. Votes may be cast by all with base access during normal hours of operation. Winning artwork will advance to the national contest.
