America's 250th Celebration at Kings Dominion Canceled

Naval District Washington (NDW) has announced that its Kings Dominion event to celebrate America's 250th has been officially canceled.

The celebration was originally scheduled for April 19, 2026, subsequently rescheduled for Sept. 12 and ultimately considered for Nov. 8.

Due to low ticket sales and lower expected attendance on the later dates, however, NDW determined that moving forward would result in a significant financial loss to the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program and deeply apologizes for this disappointment and any inconvenience it causes.

Those who already purchased tickets for the event may keep their tickets or request a full refund:

• Purchased tickets are fully valid and will be honored any day Kings Dominion is open during their regular operating season. No further action is required if patrons choose to use them this way.
• Those requesting a full refund should bring their physical tickets to the NAS Patuxent River MWR Community Recreation Office at 46983 Hinkle Circle, Bldg. 1597. The Community Recreation team will collect them and submit patrons' purchase information directly to the accounting office to process a refund.
