Volunteers Needed for 'Santa's Calling'

The NAS Patuxent River Rassieur Youth Center is seeking volunteers for its annual "Santa's Calling" holiday program, held Dec. 12-13. The program is free and open to all with base access.

"Santa's Calling" volunteers will place phone calls to children as "Santa" or one of his elves. Scripts will be provided to guide the calls, and volunteers will also have access to forms submitted by parents with information about each child.

Calls will be made on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Youth Center, located at 46870 Tate Road,
Building 2815. Thursday, Dec. 14 will be used to place calls to families who couldn't be reached the previous two evenings. Calls on Dec. 14 will be made from 6 p.m. until finished.

Teen and adult volunteers are invited to participate for one, two or all three dates. Male voices are especially needed to play the role of Santa.

To volunteer, please contact Teen Coordinator Maegen Welch at 202-718-8466 or maegen.r.welch.naf@us.navy.mil.

Those interested in having their child or children receive a phone call should do so using the registration form found here.

Registration forms must be submitted no later than noon on Monday, Dec. 11 and can be dropped off at the Youth Center, Child Development Center 2813, Child Development Center 2030, Center Stage Theater, Tickets & Travel Office, Strike Zone Bowling Center, or via email to NASPAX_TC@us.navy.mil.
